About Department of Economic Affairs
The Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) is one of the Six Departments under the Ministry of Finance. The Department provides services mainly to the Central Government Ministries, Agencies & State Governments and to the government employees.
Our Functions
DEA, inter-alia, is responsible for advice on economic issues having a bearing on internal and external aspects of Indian Economy including inflation, price control, foreign exchange management, Official Development Assistance, domestic finance and preparation of Union Budget, bilateral and multilateral engagement with international financial institutions and other countries
