Administration and Coordination Division

All administrative and pension matters relating to the officers and employees of the Department.

Aid, Accounts and Audit Division

Additionally, the Division conducts audit of import authorization issued under various export promotion schemes run by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). These audits focus on assessing the realization of foreign exchange by authorization/license holders and ensure compliance with export obligations, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the respective schemes

Bilateral Co-operation and Sustainable Finance Division

The Bilateral Cooperation and Coordination Division manages India’s bilateral partnerships, Lines of Credit under IDEAS, and engagement with institutions like JICA, UNDP, and GCF.

Budget Division

The Budget Division prepares the Union Budget, manages fiscal responsibility, public debt strategy, and small savings schemes. It also oversees Finance Commission transfers to States and presents CAG reports to Parliament.

Coin and Currency Division

The Coin and Currency Division formulates policies on currency notes and coins, including design, security features, production, and legislation. It oversees SPMCIL’s administration and coordinates with RBI and other agencies for printing, minting, and modernization of presses and mints.

Economic Division

The Economic Division provides economic analysis and policy advice, publishes the Annual Economic Survey and Monthly Economic Review, and monitors key macroeconomic indicators. It also liaises with global institutions and manages the Indian Economic Service cadre.

Financial Markets Division

The Financial Markets Division is responsible for developing India's securities and commodity derivative markets, managing external borrowings and portfolio flows under FEMA, and overseeing SEBI and SAT. Its vision is to create a transparent, efficient, and inclusive financial ecosystem that supports sustainable economic growth and financial stability.

Financial Sector Reforms and Legislation Division

The FSRL Division implements financial sector reforms, oversees the Monetary Policy Framework, and manages the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). It also handles reforms related to foreign exchange reserves and the Bilateral Netting of Qualified Financial Contracts Act, 2020.

Financial Stability and Cyber Security Division

The Financial Stability and Cyber Security Division focuses on ensuring financial sector stability and strengthening cyber resilience in India. It works with the Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC) and handles cyber security policies through the CSIRT-Fin.

Fund Bank and Asian Development Bank Division

The FB-ADB Division manages India's engagement with the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank Group, handling policy, project management, financial contributions, and interactions with external lenders. It also oversees matters related to the IMF, ADB, and other international financial institutions.
